We're about five weeks away from The Calm Seas Project's next trip. From November 6 to 8, 2026, we're hosting eight military veterans in Jacksonville, Florida, for a weekend on the water.

How it started

The Calm Seas Project started among friends on a fishing trip. We saw what a few days on the water did for each other: the quiet, the shared work, and the conversations that come easier on a boat than anywhere else. We wanted to give that to more people, so we built a nonprofit around it. Today the project serves veterans and first responders.

What we've done so far

In our first four months, supporters helped us raise more than $40,000. That support made our Marine Raider Reunion in Pensacola possible this past April, and it's what makes the Jacksonville weekend possible now. You can read about Pensacola here and about the Jacksonville event here.

The countdown

Over the next few weeks we're locking in the final details so the eight veterans joining us can just show up and enjoy it. The goal is simple: time on the water, good company, and a weekend that leaves everyone a little lighter than when they arrived. I'll share a recap after we're back.

How you can help
